According to Samsung, Vision AI Companion uses an upgraded Bixby voice assistant to offer a more natural, conversational interaction. Users can simply press a button on their remote to ask questions about anything on the screen, and the AI will then provide contextual answers with visualized, on-screen information, including related videos and images.
The new feature also comes with other AI features such as Live Translate for real-time translations of on-screen dialogue, Generative Wallpaper which creates dynamic backgrounds based on user preferences, AI Picture and Sound that can automatically adjusts picture and audio settings, and AI Gaming Mode which Samsung claims can enhance gameplay experiences.
Vision AI Companion also works with apps like Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, allowing users to access a range of AI functions without having to switch between different apps or menus. Vision AI Companion will be rolled out as a software update starting in late September in Korea, North America, and select European markets.
