C. Viper’s gameplay trailer was revealed earlier today and she remains true to her Street Fighter 4 roots more than the FGC anticipated.
A flashy secret agent with style and gadgets aplenty, C. Viper’s gameplay trailer has been heavily anticipated since she was announced as a DLC fighter for Street Fighter 6. She was known for being very technical and, while a cool fighter, the FGC was nervous she would need to be watered down in the newest title due to its more straightforward playstyle or else she’d be outshone by other fighters who are just as strong but easier to master.
But a look at the gameplay trailer that dropped today had the FGC very hopeful.
C. Viper gameplay trailer looks awesome
C. Viper’s gameplay trailer, dropped on September 24th, showed off the agent’s familiar playstyle and special moves, including Thunder Knuckle and Seismic Hammer. What’s even cooler is that these moves can be canceled, which means C. Viper will have some intense sequences and extended combos that make her pretty complex.
Looks like she is overall not being dumbed down for Street Fighter 6, which is pretty awesome to see.
Said one fan: “Can’t believe how much justice they did her. She looks like she retains that satisfying, kinetic cancel-heavy SF4 style. Good shit, Capcom.”
And another: “I’m so glad they didn’t seem to compromise her gameplay. Her faints and jump cancels are intact. Latif gonna go crazy again.”
On top of her familiar playstyle, some new moves are also spottable. This includes an airborne follow-up to Thunder Knuckle and an electric barrier of some sort.
When is C. Viper coming to Street Fighter 6?
We now have an exact date for C. Viper’s arrival (not that it’s far off from what the FGC predicted based on the DLC release pattern).
C. Viper will be available on October 15th. However, she is already available at Tokyo Game Show 2025 so we’re hoping to hear more about players’ experience with her ahead of the launch.
