With Legion Remix now live in World of Warcraft, many are getting into the patch and messing around with the new features. One of those new features is Heroic World Tier, which scales everything so that enemies are much stronger and harder to kill. While the challenge is there, there are some juicy rewards from the system, alongside much higher XP yields.
As you can imagine, some classes are faring much better than others at it. By the looks of things, if you’re a tank player, you are having a lot of fun right now. Blood Death Knights seem to be having the best time mass pulling enemies, using their AOE and survivability to melt through packs without spiking too hard. Throw in some good gear, and the tank specs in Heroic World Tier are outscaling even the challenges. One player on Reddit described their Blood Death Knight as getting around 50% of a level per mass pull of Murlocs in Azshara. We may have underrated Death Knights in our Legion Remix tier list if that’s something most players can do, too.
Other classes like Hunters, Demo Warlocks, and Demon Hunters seem to be having a decent time, too, in the Heroic World Tier. The mob kill speeds seem decent, and they can play the game fairly normally without noticing too much of a difference in the Heroic World Tier.
If you’re one of those classes that can play a tank, or have great solo leveling or AOE in the early levels, then chances are Heroic World Tier is worth it for your leveling strategy. If not, then maybe give it a miss if you care about XP efficiency early on. Some players mentioned it feels like Classic WoW to them, and they kinda like it, as you need to pay attention at times. So if you’re that type of player, go ahead and have fun with the added difficulty scaling.
It’s worth mentioning that Heroic World Tier’s XP buff also stacks with the Infinite Power XP bonus. It might be best to run through the campaign in the normal world tier if you can’t solo Heroic World Tier efficiently enough. It might be better to play the main story quests in each zone as normal, get those Infinite Power stacks, and then roll a new character that can take on Heroic World Tier. Considering Infinite Power gives XP bonuses and Stamina, it will make fighting the scaling in Heroic World Tier much easier, so you can level even faster in the mode.
Also, don’t be surprised when you reach max level. WoW’s scaling system means that Heroic World Tier is going to hurt a lot more when you reach max level. This will be a problem for a lot of fresh characters that reach max level, as the scaling expects them to have way more item level than they do when leveling up. So, consider turning it off at the end game for a short period of time while you gear up again.
How to Start Heroic World Tier
If you’re interested, you can start Heroic World Tier by:
- Visiting the Remix platform to the south of Dalaran
- Speaking to Eternus, the big infinite dragon on the floating island, and then toggling the Heroic World Tier on
- The game advises that you need to be at least level 25, but you can accept it earlier if you want to. Accept it if you’re interested.
- Speaking to the Legion terminal panel to the right if you’re facing Eternus and entering Heroic World Tier
Once you enter Heroic World Tier, the game phases over, and you get a debuff on your buff bar on your HUD. You will also get a button called “Temporal Retreat” automatically added to your hotbar to leave Heroic World Tier at any time if you find it too hard or not what you hoped it to be.
