To anyone who hasn’t played the original VTM: Bloodlines, it’s a roleplaying experience sincerely on the level of Fallout: New Vegas, Cyberpunk, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Oblivion. From the creators of Fallout (Tim Caine & Co.) with many alumni going on to Obsidian, it is the most Goth RPG of all time. It’s a FPS with immersive sim elements and F:NV quest design. There’s almost always multiple solutions to quests. Do you develop skills like Persuasion, Intimidation, Seduction, Scholarship, and Investigation to speech check your way inside? Or sneak around and hack a computer or lockpick through the back door? Or do I use my blood powers to boil the blood inside guard’s body while they’re still alive and go in guns blazing w/ a katana and an Uzi? Character creation has real impact on the story. You clan choice especially chooses which abilities you have to complement your guns/melee. There’s standard clans, but then You can also be a Malkavian, who are gifted with divine foresight which has driven them clinically insane, and it completely rewrites all player dialogue similar to a Fallout low intelligence run, but you’re insane instead. Or be a Nosferatu, who are literally just a walking corpse, who’s mere appearance is so obviously supernatural, even being seen in public is a masquerade violation. You cannot meet contact in public, and instead are in a permanent stealth playthrough. You can have at least 3 completely unique playthroughs of the game. There is so much world reactivity. NPCs even react differently to you based on gender and how high your appearance stat is. The characters and writing are out of this world good. If you enjoy Fallout, then this is a game right up your alley. submitted by /u/33Sharpies |
