We are now done with week thirty-seven and, after months of waiting, I finally have another release on the board.
Fantasy Critic League – Like Fantasy Football, but for Video Games
Seriously, my last game was Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launched on February 21st of this year. That is a long dry spell.
But first, the scores as they stood at the start of the week.

Week 36 Scores
Look at that. All I need is four points to not be in last place, a position I have occupied since April. Will I get there?
Early in the week… less than an hour after last week’s post… there was a score change.
- Publisher Score Updates
- Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)
- Moved from 5th place to 4th place
- Crash and Burn Games (Shawn)
- Moved from 4th place to 5th place
- Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)
That was probably more movement from Hollow Knight: Silksong, which has doubled in reviews since a week ago.
However, that score swap was reversed within a day.
- Publisher Score Updates
- Crash and Burn Games (Shawn)
- Moved from 5th place to 4th place
- Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)
- Score has gone DOWN from 73.8 to 72.0
- Moved from 4th place to 5th place
- Crash and Burn Games (Shawn)
And that was followed by an update that pushed Shintar’s score down a bit further.
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- [Picked by Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)]
- Score has gone DOWN from 91.5 to 89.4
Which was reversed half a day later.
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- [Picked by Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)]
- Score has gone UP from 89.4 to 91.5
That, in turn, was enough to change the ordering once again.
- Publisher Score Updates
- Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)
- Score has gone UP from 69.0 to 72.6
- Moved from 5th place to 4th place
- Crash and Burn Games (Shawn)
- Moved from 4th place to 5th place
- Play Forever Mwahahaha (Shintar)
With Shawn and Shintar less than half a point apart and it only being Tuesday afternoon and Hollow Knight likely to get more reviews… I decided to just ignore that until Saturday. No need to pad the post too much.
Instead, let’s get to me. My fourth title released.
- Dying Light: The Beast has released!
- [Picked by TAGN HQ (Wilhelm)]
- Now has a score of 82.0
82… is about par for the course. Better than my three previous picks, but not setting any records. Still, it was enough to boost me out of 10th place.
- Publisher Score Updates
- TAGN HQ (Wilhelm)
- Score has gone UP from 23.5 to 35.6
- Moved from 10th place to 7th place
- Frabjous Day Enterprises (Archey)
- Moved from 7th place to 8th place
- Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)
- Moved from 8th place to 9th place
- Rodent Entertainment (Arhanta)
- Moved from 9th place to 10th place
That was my destiny, according to the predictive powers. The seventh spot was supposed to be where I ended up and I had arrived.
But then came the other release of the week, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
Picked by Kluwes, it started getting scores early in the week despite its Friday launch.
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
- [Picked by Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)]
- Now has a score of 86.7
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
- [Picked by Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)]
- Score has gone UP from 88.0 to 89.2
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
- [Picked by Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)]
- Score has gone DOWN from 90.7 to 89.3
So when it released the day after Dying Light, it was time for Kluwes to send me back down a position.
- Publisher Score Updates
- Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)
- Score has gone UP from 33.3 to 52.7
- Moved from 9th place to 7th place
- TAGN HQ (Wilhelm)
- Moved from 7th place to 8th place
- Frabjous Day Enterprises (Archey)
- Moved from 8th place to 9th place
- Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)
And then, just to seal the deal, it kept going.
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
- [Picked by Slightly Scuffed Studios (Kluwes)]
- Score has gone UP from 89.9 to 91.6
That left the scoreboard looking like this.

Week 37 Scores
On the bright side, for me at least, I moved up out of last place. However, Kluwes did so well that the league lowered its prediction for me down to an eventual eighth place finish.
Meanwhile, in the back and forth between Shawn and Shintar, Hollow Knight: Shadowsong looks like it has pulled Shintar ahead by more than a point, though that is still a pretty tight races for second spot.
We also had one bid this week.
- Bids
- Dispatch
- Won by Hare Brained Schemes (p0tsh0t) with a bid of $6
- Dropped game ‘Unannounced Mainline 3D Mario Platformer’ conditionally
- Dispatch
Potshot got out from under the Mario game that wasn’t going to ship, picking up Dispatch in its place.
That leaves the next upcoming releases looking like this.

Week 38 Coming Up
I have another release set to land, Silent Hill f.
Archey also has a release slated for next week, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which already has some reviews.
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
- [Picked by Frabjous Day Enterprises (Archey)]
- Now has a score of 83.8
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
- [Picked by Frabjous Day Enterprises (Archey)]
- Score has gone DOWN from 83.8 to 80.7
There are already 35 reviews in for it as I write this, so it is becoming less likely to see a dramatic change in score. But it is maybe better than I expected for a Sonic game… though I have a a dim view of some of the things done with that franchise.
