EXCLUSIVE: Walter Hamada‘s 18Hz production company has promoted Nick Romano to VP while Ana Tenewitz has joined as a Creative Executive.
Romano joined 18Hz as a Creative Executive during the company’s inception in 2023. He is an Executive Producer on upcoming projects including Rodrigue Huart’s Suffer Little Children, Caye Casas’ Familiar, and Andrew Duplessie’s The Littles. Prior to 18Hz, he worked in development at New Line Cinema and before that, got his start on a motion picture lit desk at ICM Partners. A graduate of Brooklyn College, the Queens-born exec has also served on horror film juries for SXSW, Fantasia, and Palm Springs Shorts Fest.
Tenewitz arrives to 18Hz from Imagine Entertainment, where she worked as a Development Coordinator to Features EVP, Allan Mandelbaum. She began her career at Skybound Entertainment, before holding positions at Untitled Entertainment, Carol Mendelsohn Production, and PRETTYBIRD. She’s produced award-winning short films that have been selected at festivals across the country. Originally from the Hudson Valley, NY, Tenewitz graduated from Emerson College with a B.A. in Media Arts Production.

Paramount Pictures recently renewed its multi-year production deal with Hamada’s 18Hz Productions. Next up for the label is the movie Primate from filmmaker Johannes Roberts which will hit theaters on Jan. 9.
The movie, which world premiered at Fantastic Fest in September, follows a group of friends’ tropical vacation which turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival after a pet chimp goes crazy.
